The time has come and gone. The majority of the intensive has passed. It is now the time for the ABT DSI 2011 Final Performances!
This week is a bit different than the other weeks here at the intensive because of the Final Performances. So, on Wednesday and Thursday, parents are able to come and observe the first two classes of the day which are technique from 9:30 - 11:15 AM and then pointe/pas de deux 11:15 AM - 12:15 PM. Classes will be held at both the Opera House and at Wayne State University.
On Wednesday, the Young Men and the Green group will be at Wayne State University and the Yellow, Blue, and Violet groups will be at the Opera House.
On Thursday, the Yellow group will be at Wayne State University and the Blue, Green, and Violet groups will be at the Opera House. The young men will take classes with their respective colors on Thursday.
For any ticket questions that you may have, feel free to contact the Detroit Opera House Box Office at 313-237-7464. The box office will open at 10:30 AM on Friday for anyone to come and purchase tickets as they please.
After the final performances on Friday, all of the students have to come back to the dorms before any parents will be able to see your children. After that, you may take out your children to dinner or check them out from there.
If there are any questions, feel free to contact Jordan in the office at 313-577-4274!

End of Week 2!
We have hit the half way point, everyone! Week two has come to a close with its fair share of bumps, bruises, and doctor visits. All of the students are dancing just as good as always, though!
Friday night was a real special treat for some of the students, a trip to the planetarium! Lucky enough, the planetarium is in the basement of Old Main where classes are held at during the day. Wayne State University has recently renovated their planetarium with all new equipment so it was very special for the students to attend.
On Sunday, the students and chaperones went to the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) for an educational trip to see some of the most amazing works of art in the world!
Hold on tight for Week Three!! The intensive is quickly coming to a close and the performances are drawing nearer. Keep drinking your water, and get plenty of rest!!

Tiger's Game / 4th of July!
Happy 4th of July to all of the ABT DSI families!
No need for you to worry today, all of your children are working hard in the studios all day long. Tonight, to celebrate the holiday, there will be an ice cream social in the activity room and courtyard of the dorms for all of the students and chaperones to come to!
Yesterday, the students, chaperones, and Alaine all made their way to the Detroit Tiger's game vs. the San Francisco Giants. Sunny skies with some cloud cover made for a great day at the ballpark. On top of that, the Tiger's won!! It was close all the way until the 8th inning when the Tiger's pulled out a victory over the Giants, 6-3.
Week One has come and gone and everyone has made it through. For as hectic as it may be, we all are happy to be putting on such a beneficial experience for both the students and teachers.
Check back soon for another update!
